Les tissages nomadesThe inherent nature of nomadic life required the quick and easy set up of camp sites. This was facilitated by using light, completely demountable and foldable material which could be easily transported by animals.
Following these requirements many multi-purpose textiles -- kilims, sacks, large and colourful hangings and coverings for gatherings – were made to make life in tents and ‘yurts’ both beautiful and comfortable.
These woven textiles were also used as carpets, bed covers, wall hangings or as interior curtains. TRIFF carries a wide range of such textiles made for these various purposes.
With careful attention to quality, TRIFF has successfully transformed these functional textiles. Thus chuvals, or nomadic storage sacks, have been transformed into cushions.
