An unique choice of unique pieces

Our criteria of quality, authenticity and aesthetics have always led us to choose our antique kilims one by one, selecting only the most beautiful among them.
As for our new kilims, they are always hand-woven with hand-spun wools and are exclusive creations of the TRIFF gallery.
With the same care and the same spirit, we have completed our kilim collection with some hand-knotted rugs, weavings, hand-embroidered suzanis and a beautiful selection of cushions.

Early 20th century Kilim tasheh from the Bakhtiari tribes of the Chahar Mahal Valley, which crosses the Zagros Mountains.

The term Tasheh refers to deliberate irregularity and asymmetry in the design and composition.
The symbolism was to reject perfection and protect oneself from the evil eye.

This weaving is a beautiful example of this.

Sofreh Khorassan, late 19th century

This exceptionally fine piece is truly unique. The background is made of natural brown wool, and the navy blue finger-shaped patterns are reminiscent of a backgammon board. The borders are very finely woven using a “floated weft” technique.
The name given to these sofrehs, “bridal paths,” indicates their importance in dowries and wedding ceremonies.
